Hi! I'm so glad you're here!
I always knew I had a gift, I just wasn’t sure what the gift was. A few years ago, I felt called to explore this gift and it is Reiki.
Gift yourself peace, rest & healing.
You don’t find Reiki,
Reiki finds you!
MY MENTORS
I have trained in three systems of Reiki. My first Teacher is Amy Wilinski, shaman, Western style Reiki Master, occupational therapist and owner of Golden Light Healing LLC in Seibieski, WI. I attended all three levels of Reiki and acquired Reiki Master Teacher which allows me to practice and teach Reiki through the Hawayo Takata lineage.
My second teacher is internationally known author, Frans Stiene, of the International House of Reiki based out of Holland. I met with Frans in Chicago and became a certified Shinpiden Teacher in the esoteric, Eastern Japanese, Buddhist and Shinto origins of Reiki.
My third teacher is Jikiden Reiki Shihan, Jotaro Kashihara, of Reiki with Jotaro in Rochester, MN. Jikiden is an Eastern lineage through Chiyoku Yamaguchi a student of Dr. Chujiro Hayashi. Jikiden is the only authentic Eastern Reiki system originating in Japan besides the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. Jikiden Reiki certificates are archived in Japan with Tadao Yamaguchi as Representative and Frank Arjava Petter as Vice-Representative.
There are many systems of Reiki - Most Reiki is of the Western teachings.
My passion and practice is the Eastern teachings of Reiki.
I presently teach Usui Reiki Ryoho, International House of Reiki and incorporate Jikiden Reiki into practice - The esoteric methods of healing that originated from the Old Zen Masters and Buddhist Monks and Priests of Japan. The Japanese Eastern style is more intuitive and one in which skill is developed over time. As a Reiki Master and Shinpiden, I spend time daily developing spirituality, practicing meditation and gaining greater intellectual knowledge and practices within the system of Reiki.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
I am a certified Level III Shinpiden Reiki Master Teacher and a Certified Social Worker. I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
I have 25 years professional experience working with adults, teens, and children with physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities including those with anxiety, depression, addictions, PTSD, special needs, elderly, caregivers, victims of abuse, veterans and those struggling with life’s transitions. My specialties are complex trauma, intimate partner violence support, anxiety, narcissistic abuse, and dementia care.
I have personal life experiences with complex life situations such as unexpected grief/loss and have experienced divorce, intimate partner violence & abuse, migraine, caregiving, and a car accident resulting in a mild traumatic brain injury.
In all of my experiences, I have found Reiki to be the most successful and profound in its self-healing capacities both professionally and personally. Reiki facilitates a positive transformation, regulates the nervous system, reduces stress, and ignites the mind, body and spirit's ability to become the calm in the chaos.
A car accident was a universal nudge in a series of unfortunate events that propelled me to where I am today. The accident left me with debilitating migraines and a traumatic brain injury (TBI). I was unable to work, think, drive a car, or even read. When the TBI was acute, an unexpected thing happened. When I was in pain, my mind naturally went to “OM” and my spirit urged me to chant the Rosary. I later learned that Om is the universal sound of healing and chanting the Rosary is a form of meditation. My mind and body instinctively guided me to meditation, urgently creating an optimum environment in my body for self-healing.
Looking back, my body was becoming painful and rigid from difficult life experiences and past emotional trauma. I attended rehabilitation services for my TBI where my physical therapist recommended Reiki. Later, my counselor recommended Reiki again adding that I was "a reluctant empath" in a social work career. He suggested that I celebrate my gift and use my life experiences to help others instead of hiding it. I booked a few Reiki sessions and it was recommended that I learn self-treatment to treat acute and chronic migraine. I practiced self treatment daily. Where I once needed the ER and prescriptions to manage pain, I now manage migraine through Reiki. I have healed both emotional and physical trauma from my past. As a Shinpiden, I have learned the importance of compassion for myself and others which allows me to use this gift to be of service to others in sessions and classes. Embracing Reiki has gifted me with an even better life than before the accident.
I now celebrate my gifts in a healthy and safe environment with the loving and caring support of my life partner and our three sons.
MY REIKI JOURNEY
Reiki 101
WHAT IS
REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying of the hands”.
Trauma is held deep in our cellular structure and muscles. Reiki allows the body to unwind and release tension for optimal self-healing.
Reiki's founder Mikau Usui, a Buddhist Monk, defined the Reiki system as the "cure for 10,000 illnesses". Reiki is beneficial in regulating emotions that lead to
dis-ease and aids in managing symptoms of chronic illness.
Close your eyes. Place your hand over your heart. Listen to your Breath for 1 minute.
Now open your eyes....
This is Reiki.
What is Jikiden Reiki?
Jikiden Reiki makes a strong effort to keep practice and teaching as faithful as possible to the original methods taught by Mikao Usui and Chujiro Hayashi. Jikiden Reiki is pure and simple, using a clear framework for how to use Reiki in the most effective way to enhance the body's natural healing systems. We place a strong emphasis on Reiki as a practical and down-to-earth treatment method for acute and chronic physical and emotional ailments. Jikiden Reiki is Reiki as it was originally taught in Japan.
WHAT ARE REIKI SESSIONS?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glow with warmth and radiance that flows through you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit. Benefits include feelings of peace, relaxation, and wellbeing. It has been effective in managing most illnesses and is excellent in health maintenance.
In a Reiki Session, the client is fully clothed. The practitioner gently lays their hands in specific positions upon and just above the client's body. The Reiki process calms the nervous system releasing rigidity, anxiety, stress and tension. The result is peace and less pain. The Reiki energy goes where it needs to go and where it best serves the client.
WHAT ARE REIKI CLASSES?
Reiki Classes are not just for those who want to become a practitioner.
Reiki is life changing for everyone who wants to experience a positive life transformation. Reiki is a journey of rediscovering your True Authentic Self.
Level I - students learn the history and uses of Reiki, perform self-treatment and practice Reiki with a partner. Students learn the 7-year cycles of the Ancient Chakras and how personal life experiences impact their health today. Reiki is hands on healing, but it is also an invitation to learn how to meditate. Reiki supplements modern medical treatments and can help manage symptoms of chronic and acute illnesses.
Upon completion of Level 1, students can practice Reiki with family, friends, animals & within a profession or business.
Level II - Reiki is more than hands-on healing, it is a lifestyle. Reiki techniques are enhanced, and we use intuition and Reiji-Ho for guidance in Reiki sessions. Class includes instruction in specific Buddhist meditations & an introduction to three Reiki Symbols. Students perform a distant and group healing & incorporate the Precepts into daily life. Reiki is a journey of wellness.
Level III - Shinpiden Master is for those wanting to continue to develop their personal journey within the system of Reiki. It is a path towards spiritual Enlightenment and brings forth continued physical healing. Students are taught how to perform and practice Reiju/attunements. Meditation is deepened through the mystical powers of kotodama chanting and Waka Poetry. Reiki's kanji are translated to understand the origins and mysteries of Reiki, Mikau Usui and Dr. Hayashi handbooks are reviewed for treatments of specific ailments and much much more! Master Level is for both Teacher and Practitioner and can also be a self-healing journey for self or family.
As Shinpiden Masters we practice spirituality daily and begin to mentor others in rediscovering their bright light.
